First Annual Freedom 5K Fun Run
Many thanks to Tyler and his family for a very successful first year at the Freedom 5K!
Tyler was inspired by the Navy SEAL Museum to help make a difference in the lives of those serving our country. With his devout love for country and heart for service, Tyler had a vision to support military and first responders serving and sacrificing for our country.
Tyler has grown up admiring and respecting all aspects of the military and first responders. However, a trip to the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum helped to nurture and grow his admiration. Fascinated by the Museum’s exhibits and learning about our country’s elite warriors spurred Tyler into action.
He decided he wanted to help support the Museum by raising funds for our Trident House Charities Program. An active kid who loves to run, Tyler told his parents he wanted to create a 5K to raise awareness and funds for the Museum’s mission. (Tyler participated in the Museum’s 14th Annual Muster 5K this past November.)
With the help of his family, Tyler created a non-profit organization, Freedom 5K, Inc., so his vision will continue to grow well beyond the initial 5K fundraiser. Ultimately, Tyler would like to raise awareness and give back to as many military/veteran and first responder organizations as possible by hosting different events throughout the year.
The Museum is honored the first event will benefit our Trident House Charities Program. The Inaugural Freedom 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 on the beach in Ormond Beach, FL. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Museum’s mission.
Thank you, Tyler, for your patriotism and enthusiasm! We appreciate all of your hard work and effort!
