VETERANS DAY HERO WOD – CHAD 1000X

Veteran Suicide Prevention

The Museum is honored to host the CHAD 1000X event this year. Three heats will take place at the Museum on Friday, November 5th: 4:00 to 5:30 PM, 5:30 to 7:00 PM, and 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

Sara Wilkinson and GORUCK present the hero workout “Chad” in honor of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson who took his life on October 29, 2018 as a direct result of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast wave injuries and PTSD. Our goal is to honor Chad’s life and legacy and to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Last year’s Chad 1000C event saw more than 4,500 registered participants looking to be a part of something greater than themselves, to not only bring awareness to the epidemic of suicide, particularly among veterans, but also to help be part of the solution through the support to the Navy SEAL Foundation and other veteran health initiatives.

More than $100K was raised last year.

This year, join us again in paying respect to Chad Wilkinson and all of those who have been lost to suicide, while also committing to try to change the number. THE WORKOUT

1000X Step Ups completed as a team, partner, or individual for time.

3 OPTIONS:

  1. Slick // No rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups.
  2. Standard // 30#/20# rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups.
  3. Expert // 45# rucksack. Use 20” box for step-ups.

WHAT TO BRING

  • A rucksack, aka backpack (Rucker recommended)
  • Ruck Plate or whatever you have to make the weight you choose
    • 3 OPTIONS:
      • Slick // No rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups.
      • Standard // 30#/20# rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups.
      • Expert // 45# rucksack. Use 20” box for step-ups.
  • Bring your own box or step-up if available
  • Nalgene bottle (1L) or equivalent to stay hydrated
  • Face Mask (Optional)
