Beyond the Teams 2019 Bike Ride
Beyond the Teams is a group of former Navy SEALs who’ve teamed up to undertake a new kind of mission. Together, they conduct fundraising events for organizations and causes that help people with physical disabilities, cultural disadvantages, and practical needs going unmet because they are the “little guys.”
Their inaugural event was a 1,000-mile bike ride from Virginia Beach, VA to Fort Pierce, FL, culminating at the Navy SEAL Museum Muster 34 Weekend. The Museum was honored to support the endeavor of these men, raising awareness and funds for VIP NeuroRehabilitation Center in San Diego, California.
VIP is a nonprofit center that brings top quality outpatient neuro-rehabilitation care to disabled military, veterans, children and to all who are in need, focusing on those who have difficulty moving due to stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, and multiple traumas. The resources donated during the Beyond the Teams bike ride in support of VIP will provide specialized equipment and patient scholarships to mitigate the high cost of specialized neurological treatments and rehabilitation.
Thank you for following their inspiring journey. Please watch for updates on their next adventure, coming in 2020.
